Megan Anna Rapinoe was born on July 5 1985, in Redding California. Megan started playing soccer as an infant and developed her skill throughout her teens. After that, she went to her first University of Portland in Oregon along with her twin sister fraternal Rachael Rapinoe. Megan Rapinoe was a star on the soccer team of the school, becoming one of the leading scorers in collegiate women's soccer throughout the United States. The team was forced to take a break from soccer throughout her junior and her sophomore year because of injuries to her knee. She returned to soccer full-time in her senior year and began playing in all games during the season. She earned a bachelor of sociology from the University of Portland. Rapinoe was drafted to the Chicago Illinois Red Stars in the recently formed Women's Professional Soccer WPS. The team was disbanded in 2010. She played until then. Rapinoe was a part of in the Philadelphia Pennsylvania Independence for a brief period before being transferred into Boca Raton Florida. After just eight games her goal was two out of team's goals. The magicJack managed to finish third in the league. The magicJack was disbanded by late 2011 and WPS was dissolved in early in 2012. Rapinoe was a part-time player in the Sydney Football Club FC (Australian W-League) in 2011, before going back home to United States. The next team she joined was the Seattle Washington Sounders Women. Now they are the Sound FC. She was in France for the 2013 soccer season. She then joined the Seattle Reign FC now OL Reign of the National Women's Soccer League NWSL that was formed following the WPS broke up. Rapinoe began to be among the best scorers for the team and eventually became the captain. She played a key role in guiding her team U.S. Women's World Cup team to two consecutive wins in 2015. In 2018, she was named cocaptain of the team. Rapinoe was able to score two goals when the United States beat Australia 4-3 in the bronze medal game in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Japan had been prevented from attending the Olympics until 2021 because of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
